Questions, answered
FAQ
What's a dockominium?
A marina where slips are sold as condominium units with an association.
Do marinas require insurance?
Typically yes. Riviera Beach Marina Village, for example, lists $300,000 in liability coverage for non-commercial boats, with the marina named on the policy, plus a security deposit equal to one month's rent.
How much does it cost to rent a boat slip in Palm Beach?
It depends on the marina, the term and your boat's length. Riviera Beach Marina Village publishes $36/ft/month annual, $41 seasonal and $46 monthly for a non-commercial wet slip. Palm Beach Yacht Club publishes $2.00/ft/day annual and $6/ft/day transient. The Town of Palm Beach's Palm Beach Marina prices annual leases by slip size, starting at $63,510 a year for a 60-foot slip (2026–2027).
Is slip rent based on my boat's length or the slip's length?
Often whichever is greater. Riviera Beach Marina Village says its rates are based on boat length or slip length, whichever is greater, so ask each marina how it measures.
Can I rent a slip from a private owner?
Sometimes. Deeded slip and dockominium owners can lease their slips if the association allows it. Ask for the leasing rules before you sign.
What is the Port of Palm Beach?
A deepwater seaport in Riviera Beach handling cargo and cruise traffic, run by the Port of Palm Beach District.
